Structural repairs

Repairing the structure of a historic building requires a thorough understanding of how it was originally built. Traditional buildings were designed as breathable constructions, where materials, moisture and ventilation work together in balance. These buildings perform very differently from modern structures, which is why every repair must respect the original construction and the principles on which it was built.

We approach every building with both humility and curiosity. We always ask why one construction has lasted for three hundred years while another has failed. Successful restoration is not simply about repairing the visible damage—it begins with understanding and addressing the root cause of the problem. Only then can a repair provide lasting performance and remain true to the building's original character.

We carry out all types of structural repairs to historic buildings, tailoring every solution to the specific needs of the property. Alongside extensive practical experience, we offer expertise in structural design and restoration planning. Our team includes an in-house structural engineer, enabling us to assess each building as a whole and develop solutions that are technically sound, historically appropriate and economically sustainable.

Whenever possible, we use natural, breathable and durable materials that work in harmony with traditional building fabric. These include wood fibre insulation, breathable wood fibre boards and carefully selected premium timber. Our objective is to carry out repairs that respect traditional construction methods while ensuring that historic buildings remain healthy, functional and preserved for future generations.
